"...our commitment as a region to a Blue Pacific brings many challenges. In saying this, education remains key to many of these challenges and essential to our economic and social development as individual states and a region. APTC, therefore, clearly has a role in all of this and will no doubt continue to have relevance to being a key educational institute to support and strengthen local and regional institutes and a tool for Australia’s foreign policy in economic and social empowerment of the region."
H.E. Ms Hinauri Petana
High Commissioner of Samoa to Australia
"I would like to express again our appreciation to the Government of Australia for the foresight in the creation of the APTC and for its continued support of an institution that is fast becoming a very valuable asset in the development of Samoa and island countries of the Pacific."
Honourable Tuilaepa Aiono Sailele Malielegaoi
Prime Minister of Samoa
"I would like to conclude by wishing the continuation of the good work of APTC and the partners, who have collectively worked hand in hand to respond to the human capacity and skills needs throughout Fiji’s sugar industry."
Mr Corrado Pampaloni
Deputy Head of EU Delegation
"The high quality of technical and vocational skills training provided by APTC helps meet the demands of the labour market, which is crucial to the development of the Tongan economy. We look forward to working with APTC on training opportunities that would bring industry stakeholders and communities together."
Mr Claude Tupou
CEO - Tonga Ministry of Education and Training
"I can tell you now that the APTC certificate is one of the most prestigious and sought-after qualifications we look for as employers. I’m currently recruiting for some senior chefs and have prioritized the applications from APTC graduates as the ones I want to read first. Why? Because APTC graduates have spent time learning a new skill at an advanced international level. Most of the hard work I would normally do to train a new graduate has already been done. The APTC management and trainers have done part of the job."
Mr Lance Seeto
Culinary Ambassador for Fiji Airways and Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism’s ‘Fiji Grown’ campaign
"Coral Seas Hotels, over the last four years, have had a very good relationship with APTC. We have put our staff through Certificate III in Hospitality, Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate III in Hospitality (Housekeeping). The benefits, we saw included an improvement in grooming standards, especially in the kitchen; an improvement in the confidence of our Food & Beverage staff; a reduction in Food & Beverage staff turnover by 20 percent; promotion to supervisory and line manager roles and taught Housekeeping staff to confidently interact with guests."
