Climate & Disaster Resilience
The Pacific and Timor-Leste region is particularly vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters. Recognising the need for climate-related skill development, APTC has aligned its efforts with global and regional frameworks, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Australia's Climate Change Action Strategy.
Our Commitment
We contributed to climate resilience through infrastructure support, integrating 'green' content into courses, and delivering specialised training modules.
The APTC Climate and Disaster Resilience Strategy has three key commitments: Greening APTC and TVET partners' facilities, increasing TVET sector influence and supporting skills development.
Greening APTC & TVET Partners’ Facilities
APTC aims to enhance environmental sustainability within its facilities and operations and support TVET partners across the region in adopting green practices and building disaster resilience.
Increasing TVET Sector Influence
APTC collaborates with TVET partners to enhance the sector’s impact on climate change and disaster resilience initiatives, building credibility and fostering knowledge sharing.
Supporting Skills Development
APTC is focused on improving climate change and disaster resilience skills among students, staff, alumni, and the broader community. This includes adapting training products to meet regional and country-specific needs.
