Course Overview
The AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology course is designed to offer students the opportunity to further their skills and experience within the automotive industry. This course is for individuals undertaking mechanical work in the automotive light vehicle service and repair industry.
Activities include diagnosis and repair of clutch systems, final drivelines, manual transmissions, electronic compression engine systems, fuel injection systems, steering and suspension systems, selecting seals, bearings, and gaskets, as well as using workshop equipment.
Graduates of this qualification will develop skills suited to working as Motor Mechanics. Work roles include servicing and repairing engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, electrical, and braking systems.
Graduates of this course will receive an internationally recognised Australian Qualification issued through TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275).
Location
Fiji or Papua New Guinea.
Duration
The course duration is 22 weeks full-time, including a one-week mid-semester break. Students will attend classes for a minimum of 5 days per week. Additional out-of-hours study time will be required.
Delivery Mode
Face to face. Training will be delivered in English, incorporating language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) support.
Course Fees*
The course fees are FJD3,500/ PKG5,200. The fee includes personal protective equipment, stationery and uniform.

Entry Requirements
Citizenship
Citizen of a Pacific Island Forum country or Timor-Leste.
Experience
Have significant prior industry experience (more than one year) in the area in which they wish to train or have a local qualification and limited relevant industry experience (up to one year) in the area in which they wish to train.
Assessment
Complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy indicators and Vocational Knowledge Assessment.
