Fiji's Eastern interim Alumni Chapter organized

13 October 2010

Close on 30 APTC graduates attended their first alumni meeting in Suva to form the Fiji Eastern interim Alumni chapter, complimenting the recent formation of the Western Chapter.

The presence of top APTC management at the meeting held in the first week of December underscores the importance the College places on developing the Alumni.

APTC General Manager Antoine Barnaart told those in attendance that the APTC Alumni is being established to foster a beneficial relationship between the College, Alumni, and the Community.

"This is in support of the College goals to enhance the development of local and regional employment opportunities in the Pacific Island countries."

Also speaking to the members was ACEM's Manager Product/Content, Mr James Knynenburg, and Mr Jim Irwin, Country Manager for the Schools of Tourism and Hospitality, and Health and Community Services.

Members submitted their names for the executive positions of Chairperson, deputy Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, and three Chapter Representatives. These officers will be named early in December.

Alumni members were able to purchase the recently designed Alumni T-shirt.
