Eighty-two Samoans, including 62 women and 13 people living with disabilities, completed short courses delivered by the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) to increase their skills for improved employment and livelihoods.

Gail Waki Tamakam is a shining example of women who are excelling in male-dominated trades. Gail is a Carpentry Trainer with the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) based in Vanuatu and was recently awarded the Exemplary Achievement Recognition Award at the 2022 AUSTAFE Queensland Leaders and Legends Awards.

Australia supported the training of 88 Solomon Islanders in various technical and vocational programs delivered by the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC). The achievements of 43 men and 45 women were celebrated today at the first in-person APTC graduation ceremony in Honiara since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
