APTC distributes Futura resources to TVET partners in the region

Mar 07, 2014

The Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) is set to distribute Hospitality learning resources (books and CD Packages) to their TVET partners in Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.  The resources have been generously donated to APTC by Reinhold Forster, CEO of Futura Group Pty Ltd. Futura is well known for its internationally acclaimed hospitality training resources engaging students and facilitating quality training.

Each of APTC’s five campus countries has been allocated 2 pallet loads of resources. While the Futura Group has moved towards digital publishing and eLearning, they have recognized the needs of students enrolled in courses such as those delivered by APTC, particularly in locations where ICT technology and access to the internet is limited. As a longstanding business associate of the Futura Group, APTC has been selected as a partner to distribute over 6000 training resources which cover all areas of hospitality operations and management.

Distribution of resources has commenced, with the APTC Samoa campus receiving their shipment earlier this week.  According to APTC Director-School of Hospitality and Community Services, Wendy Draayers, “The resources that are being donated to our partners will be added to their reference libraries and support their delivery capacity well into the future”.

APTC CEO, Denise O’Brien noted that “the distribution of these resources would not only strengthen APTC’s partnerships with TVET institutions but would contribute directly towards their capacity to deliver technical and vocational education in the region”.

APTC is an Australian Government initiative in partnership with the Pacific and Timor-Leste.

APTC is implemented by TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275)
