APTC graduate Kabiriera Karibanang of Kiribati has begun his new career as a lecturer at the Kiribati Institute of Technology (KIT).

"KIT recognized my APTC Certificate III in Automotive Technology, so I was lucky to be selected from the 10 interviewees," said Mr Karibanang.

After successfully completing the interview process in January this year, Mr Karibanang took up his new post as KIT Lecturer in Automotive Engineering on February 01.

"I would like to thank APTC for the course I have taken in the field of automotive engineering, which I completed under APTC lecturer Roger West. It is exciting to share with the students the APTC 'new ways of life': as Roger West told us 'Fix it right first time'," said Mr Karibanang.

Mr Karibanang is no stranger to success. He completed his APTC studies, 2008 to 2009, while employed by the Kiribati Government Plant and Vehicle Unit. Upon completion of his course, Mr Karibanang was promoted "almost immediately" to a supervisory position.

"I would like to thank you again, APTC Staff and everyone, for you are moving on the right track. Without you, I may not have ended up like this. I owe you a lot."
