    Training project to improve skills of Fiji sugar industry workers

    An initiative by the European Union (EU) in partnership with the Australian Government is providing a training program for the Fijian sugar industry that improves the livelihoods of the sugar cane dependent populations by promoting income generation through sugar cane farming or alternative livelihoods.

  • Business skills workshop 2016

    Business skills workshops for leader farmers

    The European Union (EU) funded Training Support to the Sugar Industry project has rolled out a series of “Farming as a Business” workshops to enhance leader farmers business development and financial management capacities. This follows the successful implementation of the leader farmer workshops last year, which were attended by over 260 participants and farm advisory officers from across the sugar belt areas of Fiji.

  • Labasa Graduation 2016

    Fiji Sugar Corporation workers graduate with Australian qualifications

    A total of 37 employees of the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) Labasa Sugar Mill graduated with qualifications in six different courses from the Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) in Labasa on Thursday, 1 December. These was the third cohort of graduates who have completed their studies in internationally recognised Australian courses under the European Union (EU) funded Training Support to the Fiji Sugarcane Industry project implemented by the APTC.
