These resources will significantly enhance the quality of our programs and services, allowing us to better meet our students’ needs,” Mrs Awasi said. “This support will strengthen our ability to nurture growth and independence, and will bringing hope and opportunity to many individuals living with a disability.”  Australia has been a long-standing partner of the Solomon Islands Government in delivering training and upskilling young people to find jobs and contribute to their communities.  Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islanders, His Excellency Rod Hilton, said this support reflects Australia’s continued commitment to strengthening the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector in the Solomon Islands.  “By providing essential equipment, we are helping students access high-quality training that equips them with practical skills, regardless of their abilities,” High Commissioner Hilton said. Bethesda Disability and Support Centre currently has 18 enrolled students, including six females.  Seven students, two of whom are females, are set to graduate this year.
