Tourism Trainer

Please describe yourself.

I’m a professional, dedicated and passionate tourism advocate and I love seeing people finish their training and start a career in the industry and then touching base with them during their journey. I enjoy working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and have learnt a lot throughout this journey.

How long have you been working at APTC?

I have been employed with APTC since December 2013.

Please explain your role at APTC.

I’m currently the Tourism Trainer in Vanuatu. This role requires me to deliver the Certificate III in Tourism program by sharing skills and knowledge with students from across the Pacific. I also monitor and track academic performances of students in order to deem them competent for each unit of competency to receive their qualification. This requires all compliance documents to be tracked and filed appropriately should there be an audit.

What do you like about working at APTC?

Working at APTC has certainly broadened my expertise in the field of Tourism. I have enjoyed sharing my skills and knowledge with different people from diverse backgrounds and at the same time, I have learnt a lot from my fellow colleagues.

How has working at APTC helped you develop both personally and professionally?

APTC has certainly helped me in developing my skills and knowledge through all areas of teaching and professional development activities. I’m now more aware of my strengths and weaknesses including areas of development. I’m also better equipped to set goals, make decisions and identify areas for a way forward.
