Hairdressing Fun Day

Nov 27, 2013

Hairdressing students at the Australian-Pacific Technical College once again participated in the hugely successful ‘The Fun Day’ fundraiser held at the Learning Centre Primary School at Matanitobua Street in Suva recently.

Eight students studying for the Certificate III in Hairdressing supported the yearly event where they “engaged in some limited cutting exercises” as well as “braiding and straightening clients’ hair”, revealed Gareth McGrath, Senior Trainer Community Services at the APTC.

“This activity is related to their ‘Design and Cutting’ aspect of their course. This means that they were meeting some of their learning outcomes as well as supporting the community event.”

Led by Tutor Jioje Marieta-Aisea, the students provided a service to clients who ‘walked-in’ at their hairdressing clinic at ‘The Fun Day’.

The students enjoyed the clinic and they are now eagerly looking forward to putting their training to good use.

APTC is an Australian Government initiative in partnership with the Pacific and Timor-Leste.

APTC is implemented by TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275)
