Kiribati carpenter passes on skills

PTC Carpentry graduate Mr Mikaere Tioro is passing on his skills and knowledge to students at the Kiribati Institute of Technology.

Employed by the Kiribati Housing Authority at the time of his 2009 graduation, Mr Tioro has taken up employment with KIT.

"My future is brighter and better, thanks to APTC," said Mr Tioro.

"I am thankful to APTC for the training, and the skills and the knowledge and skills that I now possess," said Mr Tioro. I learned a lot from APTC and now I am sharing this with my students.

Mr Tioro said he was pleased to see women showing an interest in learning the carpentry trade, and enrolling in the KIT course.

APTC is an Australian Government initiative in partnership with the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
