First student from Marshall Islands for APTC

The first Marshallese national to receive an Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) scholarship is due to arrive in Fiji.

Christine Reimers will begin her studies in Certificate III Tourism and Hospitality Operations at the APTC Namaka Campus in Nadi, early in February. Ms Reimers, an employee of the RRE Hotel, Marshall Islands, has also been studying Business Administration and Management at the University of the South Pacific, Marshall Islands. Speaking from the USP Marshall Islands' Campus, Coordinator for Continuing and Community Education, Tamara Greenstone said that qualifications received from APTC are "quite an accomplishment," as the courses comply with internationally recognised tourism industry standards.
